Safety audit consultant

  1. 01 Conduct a thorough review of the Concession / EPC Agreement issued by the client to assess the scope of the project, including the proposed construction of the project highway as set forth in the agreement schedules, in conformity with the specifications and standards
  2. 02 Develop the detailed methodology and checklist for safety audit, in consultation with the EPC contractor and the Authority
  3. 03 Verify and suggest improvements in the Traffic Management Plan proposed by the EPC contractor
  4. 04 Assessment of horizontal curve design to ensure adequate super-elevation and transition lengths for the chosen radius and design speed
  5. 05 Assessment of vertical curves for minimum curve length for adequate sight distances
  6. 06 Assess geometrical improvements at major and minor junctions, checked against hindrances and black spots, and the requirement of grade separators per IRC guidelines
  7. 07 Verify the road furniture plan
  8. 08 Assess lane marking and adequacy of lighting at junctions, road studs, object / hazard markers and traffic signs
  9. 09 Check adequacy of pedestrian facilities such as guard rails, footpaths and road marking
  10. 10 Drainage provisions in urban areas to ensure clearing of water from the carriageway in minimum possible time

Proof checking consultant

Post-tender stage: proof checking of all structural design and drawings, including good-for-construction drawings, which include:

  1. 01 Vetting of all GAD drawings prepared by the main structural consultant
  2. 02 Vetting of the soil investigation report prepared by the main design consultant
  3. 03 Proof checking of structural design of foundations, substructure, superstructure, crash barrier, retaining wall, RE wall, cycle track and footpath for the complete project, including bridges and other structures
  4. 04 Proof checking of pavement design
  5. 05 Vetting of good-for-construction drawings for the entire stretch showing pavement, footpath, road, bridge, drainage, signage and road marking
  6. 06 Proof checking of all electrical works and drawings
  7. 07 All design based on standard and relevant codes of the respective field as applicable

Construction stage

As Proof Consultant, NPEC adheres to international standards and norms for quality, specifications, procedures and project management, and also provides:

  1. 01 Review and approve designs and drawings of temporary or other works, and proposals on construction technology, with suitable modifications considering technical requirements, contractual provisions, safety, sequencing, time frame, programme compatibility and site conditions
  2. 02 Review the analysis of pile test data and vet the safe carrying capacity of piles for departmental approval during construction
  3. 03 Review and approve construction and installation methodologies submitted by contractors
  4. 04 Review and approve shop drawings and the design of shuttering and staging
  5. 05 Review and approve the design of bearings and expansion joints prepared by specialized agencies
  6. 06 Review and advise on any issue referred by the Engineer-in-Charge regarding quality of material, workmanship or construction
  7. 07 Review and recommend changes in design if proposed by the contractor during execution
  8. 08 Review the design of structures if required at any stage
  9. 09 Review the quality assurance manual, quality assurance plans, method statements, maintenance manual and as-built drawings, and suggest modifications
  10. 10 Assist the client in periodical meetings to review progress against the approved programme
